The Teams

Within North East Lincolnshire Council we require Family Support Workers across a range of teams which includes: Assessment and Intervention team, Court and Child Protection Team, Children in Care/New Futures and the Children with Disabilities Service.


The Role

We are seeking talented and skilled individuals with a background in Children’s Services or similar childcare setting to work alongside our Social Workers. You will be assisting in promoting resilience within families and offer targeted interventions to reduce need and harm.

We are looking for someone who has sound direct work skills, the ability to communicate with children and use direct play to understand their world.  You will be able to undertake parenting work and support Social Workers with parenting assessments.  You should have a sound knowledge of child development and a good understanding of the impact of trauma on the child’s world and be able to offer practical and emotional strategies to overcome this.

It is important that you are a good communicator and team player and are able to work with parents/carers to build on strengths and support them to be the best parent/carer they can be.

This Family Support Worker post will be within one of the service areas outlined above and you will be part of a dedicated team with an assigned Family Support Supervisor.
